IFA 2024 took place in Berlin from September 6th to 10th, celebrating its 100th anniversary. This global trade fair is one of the largest consumer electronics and home appliance events and attracted over 215,000 visitors from 138 countries. The event featured over 1,800 exhibitors from all over the world, including major industry players such as Samsung, LG, Hisense, Miele and innovative startups.
Looking forward to seeing all this soon, we met at the train station in Holzdorf around 9 am. At 9:30 am the train arrived and we headed to Berlin. After a two-hour train ride we finally reached the exhibition center. Then we had five full hours to discover this exhibition. We split into smaller groups and our group went to the household area first. There were refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, coffee machines and much more. Among those there was a Miele stand that gave out free coffee to visitors and some of us tried this delicious drink produced by the highest standards of coffee-making technology. A little bit later we passed by a few halls where there were a lot more electronics, like microphones and cameras. After that we went straight to the summer garden. There we enjoyed the sunny weather for about 30 minutes before we had to go back to the entrance hall because our teachers wanted to make sure that everything was OK with us students. After that meeting we went back to the summer garden to get chips and coke for lunch. There we sat on the lawn, enjoyed our food and watched what was happening on the big open-air stage, where musicians and technicians were setting up their equipment for an upcoming concert. About two hours later we came to a hall where massage guns and seats were issued. There we relaxed a bit and then moved on to halls where gaming items were exhibited. At the very end of our tour we visited a hall where there was a model of a flying car. That was pretty impressive because its creators touted it as THE FUTURE. Finally, with these futuristic images in our heads, we had to head back to the nearby train station to make our way home.
